Burnett Burial Park Master Plan

Hines Wasser + Associates collaborated with Elizabeth Vizza Consulting and Shary Page Berg on a Master Plan for this active 2.14 acre private burial ground dating from 1894. The master plan was developed through an interactive process with a master plan committee of family members and included investigation of landscape history, monument condition and conservation needs, landscape character, use, and cemetery development. Family members contributed important insights about the burial park through completion of a questionnaire at the outset of the process. The plan will support present and future generations of the Burnett family in caring for their burial ground as it serves the needs for burial and commemoration for years to come. Of great importance to the family was maintaining a unique open landscape of mature trees and grass without cluttering the space with individual markers.
