Maple Grove Garden Crypts

Like many historic cemeteries, Maple Grove is running out of in-ground burial space. The cemetery master plan identified reclaiming some of the large traffic islands within the grounds for development. Hines Wasser + Associates designed two garden crypt structures linked together by memorial walls, to create gathering spaces and symbolic gateways. The structures incorporate columbaria niches interwoven with solid stone blocks. These large granite blocks will be used for memorial inscriptions that correspond with surrounding in-ground burial spaces.
